David obtained a Bachelors degree from Monash University, an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited undergraduate psychology major from Swinburne University and post graduate training in counselling psychology at RMIT University. He completed his doctorate examining the intrapersonal impact of interpersonal dynamics under the supervision of Dr. John Cone, Consultant Psychiatrist and was awarded a PhD on 8 February 2000.

 

David attended extensive documented professional supervision with amongst others, Dr. Jim Penney, Consultant Psychologist and Dr. John Cone, Consultant Psychiatrist.

 

David’s early research was in the area of chronic schizophrenia at Mont Park Psychiatric Hospital in Melbourne and the Victorian Transcultural Psychiatry Unit. He has conducted extensive research into schizophrenia, personality, depression, anxiety, ptsd, vicarious traumatisation, pathological addictions, sexual disorders, the self and the theory and practice of psychotherapy.

 

David is the pioneer of Self Empowerment Theory and its practical applications, Self Empowerment Therapy and Single Sessions Self Empowerment Therapy which is derived from his research findings into the self.

 

David has held several Ministerial Appointments and is the Director of several clinic brands including MyPsychHealth, The ATRI Clinic, Natural Clinic, Sydney Trauma Centre, TCC and ETRI and an art gallery, Karmalot Gallery: http://karmalotgallery.blogspot.com.au/
